We are presently looking for skilled Plans Examiners with experience in municipal building plan review. Position requires ICC Plans Examiner Certification, understanding of codes and regulations enforced by local building departments as well as the ability to deal effectively with applicants and members of the development community. Full time/part time/flexible hours.

Responsibilities: Perform structural review of plans, specifications, and related documents for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings or improvements. Ensure conformance of applications for building permits with IBC, UBC, state, and municipal codes and related regulations. Perform/review structural calculations using design programs to check gravity and lateral-force-resisting systems of steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures for design loads. Conduct seismic design review. Review geotechnical reports and specifications for foundation and grading requirements.   Requirements: B.S. Civil Engineering; four years of residential, commercial, and industrial structural engineering experience, including two years of municipal review experience. Four years experience with the seismic provisions of AISC, ACI 318 and FEMA. Nevada Professional Engineer registration required. Experience may be gained concurrently. Must have legal authority to work in the United States.
